Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax police response towards DUI incidents in Charleston resulted in an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's reported on major occasions like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted the Pre ShowArrivals Programs during The Emmys.
